Food, Film, Illustration & Design:
the ingredients of the cultural event that supports Kenya.

Food, the great protagonist of 2015, is the centre of a cultural and artistic project that combines cinema, illustration and design: THE BIG MEAL.

All together to support “Water for Karungu project” implemented by Salute e Sviluppo.

Born from the collaboration between ADI Food Design Laband ChickenBroccoli, the event will take place on 19 September from 3pm at the Casa del Design in Milan as part of the ADI PER EXPO programme.

THE BIG MEAL, sponsored by the Metropolitan City of Milan, is part of the EXPO IN CITTÁ circuit.It has technical partners, such as the De’Longhi Group, and sponsors, such as the Casillo Group, who have made it possible to organise the event, which contributes to supplying drinking water to the population of Karungu, Kenya.
In Karungu people live below the poverty line. The proximity to Lake Victoria has favoured the establishment of a relationship of dependence with a water that has always been contaminated. An unprecedented water system and water treatment model is being developed.

On 19 September, the public will start tasting THE BIG MEAL with the delicacies of Mel Stuart’s “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” (3pm), will continue sipping Ridley Scott’s “A Great Year” (5pm), get carried away by the energy of Jon Favreau’s Chef “the Perfect Recipe” (7pm) and will end in the evening with Edoardo Leo’s “Noi e la Giulia” (9pm).

Between screenings, you can enjoy a special “lunch-box” composed of 4 snacks in line with the films you have just seen and finally delight the illustrations of the proposed movie posters, made by 4 giants of contemporary Italian illustration: Mauro Gatti, Ale Giorgini, il Pistrice and Rita Petruccioli.

All accompanied by the spicy reviews of ChickenBroccoli the site ‘for those who love to hate cinema’.
